In 1977, at the age 16, Kendal Versil Olson Major enrolled in Tuskegee University, Alabama and graduated with honors in 1981.
In 1987, he graduated with the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry, Washington DC.
Dr. Major pursued specialized certification in Periodontics and Dental Implants at Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey. In 1989 Dr. Major graduated as the first black student from this post-doctoral program and one of 54 black Periodontists in the United States and Canada. He is uniquely gifted in diagnosis & treatment planning (determining the problem & presenting a clear road map) having won the prestigious award, “The Crater Cup Award” at Rutgers.
Dr. Major returned home becoming the first Bahamian Specialist in Periodontics and Dental Implants.
Center for Specialized Dentistry is now the foremost comprehensive and family dental center with offices in Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas.
Dr. Major has placed and restored over three thousand dental implants.
He has a passion for serving his gifts to the world using the best technology coupled with service excellence to his patients. He has a large following of patients who are delighted to refer their friends and family. His motto is “touching people and changing lives” speaks to his commitment to compassionate and holistic dental care.

Dr. Major is married to the lovely Monique Major (nee Smith) and is the proud father of Brittany, Kendal Jr. and Kyalia.
